Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's daughter Ava Raine gets new WWE name

WWE superstar Ava Raine has undergone a slight name change and joins the ranks of wrestlers who lost their surname

Now simply known by the mononym Ava, the daughter of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is continuing to learn her craft as the company’s first fourth generation star.

The change was first noticed on NXT earlier this week when she was referred to as Ava, and now her WWE.com profile has been updated to confirm the switch.

She currently appears as part of the sinister group Schism – led by Joe Gacy and also including tag team Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid – which has been targeting Chase U star Thea Hail in recent weeks.

Although Ava is yet to wrestle her first match, she has been impressing fans with her character work and looks to have a lot of potential.

The name change is unlikely to hamper that, and she’s hardly the first person this has happened to, with Antonio Cesaro, Alexander Rusev, Apollo Crews, Shotzi Blackheart, Mustafa Ali and more all undergoing something similar in the past.
